- Continuous ECG monitoring is offered.
- Centralized oxygen systems are continuously utilized by our doctors and nurses. This gives them access to oxygen in many different places throughout our hospital.
- An Isolation ward is provided for our contagious patients and there are strict regulations for entering and exiting to keep other pets in the hospital safe.
- Our pharmacy includes snake anti-venom and the availability of whole blood , fresh frozen plasma and cryoprecipitate used in blood transfusions for both cats and dogs. We also stock Oxyglobin which is an artificial oxygen carrying blood product.
- An Extensive medical reference library is available to our Doctors and nurses 24 hours a day.
- Chemotherapy is available to cancer patients.
- Anesthesia monitors for all anesthetic procedures are available including EKG, Pulse Oximetry, Respiratory monitors and blood pressure to insure the safest outcome.
- Isoflourane and Sevoflourane gas anesthesias are used just as in human hospitals for all anesthetic procedures. These are the safest products available and can be used with senior pets and even exotic pets.
- Two intensive care units with controlled temperature, humidity and oxygen flow as well as a nebulizer unit. We can accommodate large and small breeds.
- Laser Surgery – Incisions made with the Laser bleed much less and are much less painful during the healing process. We perform surgeries such as feline declaw procedures, tumor and cyst removal and Spay/Neuters with the Laser unit.
- High Speed Drill and Dental Unit – This unit allows us to perform many dental procedures quickly to shorten the time that your pet must remain under anesthesia.

- Our Dental Radiology Unit allows us to take X-Rays of your pet's mouth. With this technology we can see beyond the gum line. We can identify pocket abscesses and bone loss due to periodontal disease allowing us to provide better dental care during the surgical procedure.
- Ultrasound with color doppler diagnostic testing is a noninvasive procedure that can help us diagnose abdominal and cardiac problems in dogs and cats. We offer this service by appointment and on an emergency basis. Our Ultrasonographer, Dr. Kenneth Isherwood receives numerous referral cases from Veterinarians throughout the region and has frequently used our ultrasound technology equipment to help the Veterinarians at our Louisville Zoo and at other off site locations.

- Rigid and Flexible Endoscopy is used to explore the entire intestinal tract from the mouth down to the colon. This procedure requires anesthesia, but it can take the place of more serious and invasive surgical procedures.
- Doppler blood pressure is commonly used for patients with cardiac or other systemic diseases. It gives us very necessary information to monitor long term medications.
- Radiology capabilities with automatic film processing allow us to process X-Rays quickly and accurately. X-Rays are used not only to evaluate bones, but also heart, lungs and abdominal organs to diagnose diseases.
- Digital imaging is the latest in medical technology. We can have a picture of your pets X-Ray stored in your pet's computerized medical records as well as present you with a color printout. Digital imaging also allows us to send the images (X-Ray and Ultrasound) to board certified specialists throughout the nation for consultation when needed.
- Blood serum and gas analyzers allow us immediate diagnostic results when your pet is ill or injured. This allows us to make a quicker diagnosis so we can begin immediate treatment of your pet's condition.
- A tour of our facilities is available for your group or organization – Have a girl scout or boy scout group that would benefit from a tour of an emergency animal hospital? We can provide an informative, exciting ½ - 1 hour tour for your group or organization. Please call and speak with Mary Kay, our office manager to make an appointment.
